Creating sewing stitches in Photoshop can be a bit tricky. I’ve got a method involving custom brush tool presets and some fancy actions, and it seems to work well enough for my purposes. What’s your method? Download the brushes, the actions, and watch video #2 after the jump:

Thanks for the reply Adam. I’ve been watching CS5′s new features in adobe.tv and yes, the content aware fill is impressive!.
Cheers,

Hi Adam!
Thanks a lot for sharing all these tips with us, really helpful.
On the side note, you are using CS5, aren’t you? Would you mind sharing your feelings about the new CS5 features?
Have a nice day,
josé
For me (and probably for anyone who regularly “paints” in PS) it’s worth the upgrade. The content-aware fill is friggin’ amazing too. I mean really… it will blow your mind.
Thanks for all those quality tutorials, I love your site.
I just downloaded the preset brush and action for the sewing stitches, but the preset brush doesn’t want to load in Photoshop. Is there a particular procedure to load it.
Thanks.
Brilliant technique! I’m not doing ID these days, but it’s bound to be a useful way to create some brushes for fun illustrations.
