Hi Adam, I am wondering if you know if there is a way in solidworks to “flatten” in the (sheet metal tools) a curved surface that was created by a loft. obviously you can take a cylinder section and flatten that, and the lofted curve section is not necessarily planar,( which might be the hang up) but even thou it’s not planar, it’s not severe in any way, and it seems like it should be possible…

Hi John!
It sounds like you’re trying to flatten a ‘non-developable surface,’ and unfortunately SolidWorks does not currently support this functionality. All you could really do is export the file to something like Rhino, which should give you the flexibility you need.
