Generally speaking, modo can read data from any application that can export an .obj, FBX, or, with a special script, STL file. This means you can export raw mesh data from virtually any 3D application and read it into modo. If you use Rhino or SolidWorks, however, life is much simpler, since modo reads these formats natively–no need for an intermediary file format.
